We asked for weird, and you gave it to us. We even put $50 in Downtown Dollars up for grabs as a prize for the case voted the craziest. And now it’s time to announce who won our Strangest Court Case Contest!
Coming in at the head of the pack was J. Edward Yonkers III, who submitted the sordid tale of a man who died during a threesome; the man’s family sued his doctor… and were awarded $3 million! (Read more about this case here.)
But wait… There’s more! We were in a crazy mood this morning at the office, so we decided to up the ante and award a prize for second place!
For submitting a collection of Victorian-era crimes and punishments, we are awarding $25 in Downtown dollars to Debbie Beaudrie! (Read about these historical cases here.)
Congratulations to both of our winners, and thanks to all who entered and who voted. We appreciate your participation!
